When I got my first Ender 3 FDM 3D printer back in 2021, I got right to making models. This figurine of Canti, a character from animated series FLCL, was an early attempt at printing, sanding, and finishing a complex FDM printed model. While a certain degree of quality was attainable by careful tuning of print parameters, I definitely found there to be some fundamental limitations with this process - layer anisotropy, limited resolution, etc. That said, the lessons I learned about FDM printing in this period of time gave me valuable knowledge for future 3D printing projects!
